Mr. J's Class Page

Hello, and welcome to class V42!

My name is Mathew John. It is a great honor to be the homeroom teacher for class V42 and provide academic instruction and guidance for your children. With my background in psychology and as a Special Education Generalist, I implement instructional strategies that help students develop the self-regulation skills necessary to achieve academic and personal growth. As a former case manager for at-risk youth, I understand the importance of fostering a classroom environment that cultivates wellness through trauma-informed practices and social-emotional learning.

This class offers a safe and nurturing environment where everyone is welcome. In V42, we all strive to encourage and motivate each other. I am fortunate to have an exceptional paraprofessional who provides additional instructional, behavioral, and social support for our students inside and outside the classroom. Ms. Anna Washington and Mr. Ruben Cabezas strive to provide students with the support they need to learn and thrive.

We aim to make students life-long learners who believe in a growth mindset and themselves. We will work together to explore, appreciate, and celebrate diversity while helping students to build their collaborative/leadership skills.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email me directly or email me.

Thank you, and I look forward to working with you and your child.

Sincerely,

Mathew John
