Here at the Annex, we provide a rigorous education emphasizing that all of our students have the potential to learn, grow, and become successful members of society.  We prepare our students to take NYS and NYC exams, while getting our students ready for high school.  Our staff at the Annex provides students a nurturing, therapeutic environment while strengthening academics, providing all our students an opportunity to succeed. We spend a great deal of time and effort on our schools PBIS program which focuses on supporting students' positive behavior, and encouraging them to think and act in a positive matter.  Students who earn their points get to participate in weekly clubs which support enrichment activities such as a culinary, technology and physical education program.

2022-2023 School Year
A program that was launched by President Obama for an initiative to address persistent opportunity gaps faced by boys and young men of color that is set out to ensure that ALL young people can reach their full potential.
Assistant Principal Luke Timmins, is one of MBK's Lead Mentors.  Mr. Timmins piloted this program with our Intermediate Students here at the Annex when the program first began.  Our students look forward to participating in the program during the monthly meetings, and have made great progress doing so.  Students that have struggled reading in front of peers have gained the confidence to do so.
MBK is a program that inspires many citizens.  People involved in the program consist of community leaders, policy makers, elected officials and more who are involved to ensure that all youth know they matter while providing them with the knowledge that they can have every opportunity to achieve any dream they want to.
