Dr. Keisha McCoy's visit to P25!

Throughout the morning, Dr. McCoy participated in classroom visits that reflected the school’s guiding belief that literacy lives in all subject areas. The leadership team visited an American Government class, a Biology class,  an English Language Arts class, and an Algebra I high school class, in addition to, several vocational classes, including Automotive, Carpentry, and Culinary Arts. In each setting, Dr. McCoy observed how staff intentionally embed literacy practices across all disciplines.

In addition, Dr. McCoy joined the PBIS Committee meeting, where discussions focused on strengthening the existing behavioral point system through the development of a tiered support structure. Before and after the classroom visits, Dr. McCoy posed targeted questions aligned to the components of the Principal Performance Review. Through aggregated data and a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation prepared by Assistant Principal DiMonda, the leadership team clearly articulated the school’s strategic vision and action plan, highlighting rigorous instructional practices and inclusive stakeholder engagement to support student growth along the educational continuum.

To conclude the visit, Coach Morales and members of the S.R.H.S. PSAL wrestling team presented Dr. McCoy with a handmade poster, an honorary wrestling T-shirt, and a personalized charcuterie board engraved with her name & made by students in our Carpentry class. The visit was a meaningful morning of learning, collaboration, and reflection, and a strong affirmation of Principal Casella’s leadership practices.
